Figure: Award from Hope for Tomorrow foundation

 

A group of Orchard Park residents went to Haiti recently, where they assisted in surgeries for those who cannot afford them. The Hope for Tomorrow mission to Haiti included seven residents from Orchard Park. There were 30 people on the trip, which was led by Dr Jeffrey Meilman, chairman of the board and a plastic surgeon. Included in the photograph, from left, are Dr Alain Thomas, head of orthopaedic surgery at Immaculate Conception Hospital in Haiti; Dr Craig Blum, associate professor of orthopaedic surgery; Dr Mark Anders, associate professor of orthopaedic surgery; Kristin Anders; Dr Robert Smolinski; Kristan Blum; Nicole Smolinski; Harry Dorvilier, a national Haitian advocate from New York City and Haitian native; and Dr Lynn Matthews, a professor of physical therapy at Daemen College.
